Looking back at 2014

Me as a reindeer. Haha!
Hi everyone!

Today, I'm going to look back at 2014. This is the first year my blog exists, I'm actually blogging only one month and a half. But I'm really happy I started this blog. In the new year I'm going to try to blog more.

I'm going to show you my 2014 favorites and this are also my december favorites.

My absolute favorite is the crochet beanie I made. I'm definitely going to make it also for myself and my mom already asked me to make one for her, so I know what to do.

My second is the pencil case. I was so happy when I finally finished my first sewed thing. I use it now in school for all my pens en pencils.

Then the Christmas decoration. I really love this DIY. I'm going to make it to with some other printed paper and just hang up in my room.

The marbling paper was also something I really loved to do. It is just so easy to do. This is the result.

And finally the deer head. This is together with the beanie my number 1 favorite. I worked a long time on it, but I was really happy when I finally could hang it above my bed. For Christmas I hung some Christmas tree lights in it, but I think I'm going to let it hang, it's just so cosy.

I would like to show you my favorite films, but I just realized I haven't seen so much movies this year. One of my favorites was, of course, Mockingjay part 1, I can't wait until the second part.

Then my other favorite movies:

The fault in our stars (I will post a review soon)
Divergent
Dear John
The last song
Safe haven
Remember me
The lucky one
Water for elephants

And I'm going to show you also my favorite books, I've actually read a lot of books and I also started with reading English books.

Divergent
Before I go to sleep
Beautiful Creatures
The fault in our stars
Twilight
Every day

I hope you like this post and I can't wait to blog a lot in 2015!

Marbling paper with nail polish

Hi everyone!

A few days ago, I found this cool technique on the internet to marble with nail polish. I thought it was not going to work, but it worked actually really well. I really love this technique and you can use the result to make some paper DIY's.

You can also do it with marble paint, but nail polish is just cheaper (if you buy the cheapest nail polish like I did), the result is exactly the same and if you haven't used all the nail polish you can paint your nails with it.

You need, of course, nail polish in the colors you want, a bowl of water and maybe some toothpicks.

First you just has to do the nail polish into the bowl with water.

Then you just has to place a paper on it.
Take the paper after a few seconds out of it and let it dry for a few hours.

I hope you like it!

Crochet Beanie

Hi everyone!

Every year we have to buy a little present for someone from our family, and this year I picked my dad. Because it's winter, I made a beanie for him. I could't find a pattern, so I made it myself.

You only need a crochet needle from 10 mm and wool. I used one and a half ball of blue wool and because I think it's a little bit boring to use only one color, si I add two other balls of wool with a different color. And I just crochet with the three colors at once.

I used these abbreviations:

ch = chainstitch
sl.st = slipstitch
hdc = half double crochet

Let's start!

Round 1: 8 hdc into the magic ring.
Round 2: 16 hdc, 2 hdc in each hdc
Round 3: 24 hdc, 2 hdc in each second hdc
Round 4: 32 hdc, 2 hdc in each third hdc
Round 5: 40 hdc, 2 hdc in each fourth hdc
Round 6: 48 hdc, 2 hdc in each fifth hdc
Round 7: 48 hdc
Round 8: 48 hdc
Round 9: 48 hdc
Round 10: 48 hdc
Round 11: 48 hdc
Round 12: 48 hdc
Round 13: 48 hdc
Round 14: 48 hdc
Round 15: 48 hdc
Round 16: 48 hdc
Round 17: 48 hdc
Round 18: 48 hdc

Let me know what you think!

Christmas Decoration 2

Hi everyone!

Ok, I am maybe a little bit late to decorate my Christmas tree, but today it's Christmas Eve and I finally made another Christmas tree decoration for in my little Christmas tree. I found this origami on Pinterest and it is not so difficult, only at the end when you have to glue it.

This is how you make it:

You need 2 pieces of paper, a piece of string and a scissor.

Fold the paper from one corner to the other.

Unfold.

 Fold it the other way.

 Unfold.

Fold the bottom part to the top.

 Unfold.

 Fold it the other way.

 Unfold.

Turn it over so it looks like this.

Gently press the sides to the middle.

And fold the top part towards you.

 It should look like this.

 Turn it 180°.

Fold the two sides like this.

Turn it and fold the other two sides like this.

 Cut the top part off.

 Turn it 180°.
Take the left side and unfold it.

 Open it a little bit.

And fold it over the right side.

Press down the folding on the top and fold it to the left.

Now do the same with the right side.

This is what you should have than.

Turn it and do the same thing with the left side.

And do the same thing with the right side.

This is how it should look like.

Fold the corner of the left side.

Fold the corner of the right side.

Fold all the corners like this.

 Unfold everything.

 Fold the corners inwards.

Repeat all the steps to make the other half.
Put some glue on the corner parts you just folded and press gently the two halves to each other.

I hope you like it!
